Bryant accuser begins media blitz

Wednesday, September 08, 2004 - Attorneys for Kobe Bryant's accuser launched a media blitz Tuesday, saying Bryant's apology last week to their client was a "powerful" statement that will shift the focus back to Bryant and off their client.

In televised appearances on CNN's "American Morning," NBC's "Today Show" and CBS's "Early Show," attorneys John Clune and Lin Wood said Bryant's statement of apology was a key to dropping the criminal sexual-assault case last week.

"If Kobe Bryant had not agreed to those words in a signed public statement, we would still have a criminal case being tried today," Wood said on the CNN show.
